Balayage and Cold Hair Extensions

What are cold hair extensions?
Cold fusion is another method that is applied by weaving small sections of hair sandwiching your natural hair between the extension using a polarized technology resembling a magnetic connection. Cold fusion extensions do not use heat to apply the hair. The hair is bonded to your natural hair. This method focuses on keeping the integrity of your hair.
How long do cold fusion hair extensions last?
Cold fusion extensions last a relatively long time, 3-7 months. There is a large gap between three to seven months because their longevity depends on each person’s hair and lifestyle. When well taken care of, cold fusion hair extensions can last longer than other methods.
You may or may not lose some extensions before these 3-7 months; everyone’s hair is different. If you have extensions fall out before the 3-7 months, this is normal. Some people have hair that sheds more than others, so there is no way to guarantee none will come out before that time. When your extensions are in, they will grow with your natural hair, similar to how your nail grows when you have acrylic nails.

Can you apply cold fusion extensions yourself?
No, you must have your cold fusion hair extensions professionally installed by a licensed cosmetologist. They must also be removed by a professional.
How do you care for cold fusion hair extensions?
You can wash your hair and blow-dry it without ruining your extensions. The maintenance is relatively easy once you get used to it. Along with being given a maintenance care sheet upon installation, we will show you how to brush your extensions with your extension brush. We will also go over the maintenance rules such as keeping your hair in a ponytail at night, not going to bed with it wet, only using professional products, especially when it comes to shampoo and conditioner you use.
You can wash, blow-dry, curl, straighten, brush, swim, glaze, and continue with regular root touch-ups (single process or partial highlights) while you have extensions. You may deposit color over the extensions with nothing higher than a 20-vol developer, but you cannot lighten/bleach the extensions.
Consultation and Installation Appointment
Consultations are $75, which goes towards your total service price. Hair extensions will only look natural with a proper consultation before application. Suppose you decide you want to get hair extensions or still unsure and have questions you would like answered before going further. In that case, we will need to set up an appointment for a consultation to:
- Discuss any questions or concerns you may have
- Match your hair color and texture and choose the technique best suits your needs and hair appearance goals, like length, volume, or color
- Identify how many strands you will need
Consultations are a MUST. I cannot determine how many extensions you need or give you a price quote without seeing your hair in person. It is almost impossible to assess your hair’s thickness, texture, and exact color through a picture. I want it to look as natural as possible, so in-person consultations are a necessity.
During the consultation, I determine the correct tone, texture, and quantity of strands needed. Then I proceed to make your install appointment. I do not keep hair in stock; I place orders upon request.
A deposit is required to book an installation appointment. I accept cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, and Cashapp. If you decide to pay with a check, the check needs to clear before the hair is ordered, possibly leading to a longer wait time. All deposits are non-refundable because the supplier does not accept returns for hair orders. If you decide to make an appointment for a consultation, please make sure whatever hair color you have when completing the consultation is the same hair color you will have on installation day.
Otherwise, you will have to return a second time to rematch your hair color before placing an order of hair extensions. If you think you’re ready to book a consultation, please contact us.
