What are tape-in extensions?
As the name implies, tape-in extensions adhere to the hair’s root. They are a semi-permanent hair extension method that typically lasts 8-12 weeks. They are reusable for multiple applications. Tape-ins are thin hair wefts, pre-taped, that get bonded in between your natural hair. It is the most requested hair extension method around the world. The process is 100% natural, requires no chemicals or special tools, and is relatively quick to install.
Will tape-in hair extensions damage your hair?
Tape-in extensions are some of the least damaging options on the market. They are lightweight and do not pull on your natural hair. They grow out with your own hair and do not tug or pull. When applied and removed correctly by a licensed cosmetologist, tape-ins cause minimal damage.
Can you wash your hair, blow-dry it, swim, and more?
Yes! You can wash your hair and blow dry it without ruining your extensions. The maintenance is relatively easy once you get used to it. Along with being given a maintenance care sheet upon installation, we will show you how to brush your extensions with your extension brush. We will also go over the maintenance rules such as keeping your hair in a ponytail at night, not going to bed with it wet, only using professional products, especially when it comes to shampoo and conditioner you use.
You CAN wash, blow-dry, curl, straighten, brush, swim, glaze, and continue with regular root touch-ups (single process or partial highlights) while you have extensions. You may deposit color over the extensions with nothing higher than a 20-vol developer, but you cannot lighten/bleach the extensions.
Can you apply tape-in extensions yourself?
No, you must have your tape-in hair extensions professionally installed by a licensed professional. They must also be removed by a professional to avoid any damage to your natural hair.
Are they a good option for fine/fragile hair?
Yes, clients with more fine hair will benefit from the volume and thickness tape-in extensions can add. Tape-in extensions are perfect for clients with fragile or thin hair because they provide the ability to have fuller and longer hair with their discreet attachment and gentle application and removal method.
Consultation and Installation Appointment
Consultations are $75, which goes towards your total service price. Hair extensions will only look natural with a proper consultation before application. Suppose you decide you want to get hair extensions or still unsure and have questions you would like answered before going further. In that case, we will need to set up an appointment for a consultation to:
- Discuss any questions or concerns you may have
- Match your hair color and texture and choose the technique best suits your needs and hair appearance goals, like length, volume, or color
- Identify how many strands you will need
Consultations are a MUST. I cannot determine how many extensions you need or give you a price quote without seeing your hair in person. It is almost impossible to assess your hair’s thickness, texture, and exact color through a picture. I want it to look as natural as possible, so in-person consultations are a necessity.
During the consultation, I determine the correct tone, texture, and quantity of strands needed. Then I proceed to make your install appointment. I do not keep hair in stock; I place orders upon request.
A deposit is required to book an installation appointment. I accept cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, and Cashapp. If you decide to pay with a check, the check needs to clear before the hair is ordered, possibly leading to a longer wait time. All deposits are non-refundable because the supplier does not accept returns for hair orders. If you decide to make an appointment for a consultation, please make sure whatever hair color you have when completing the consultation is the same hair color you will have on installation day.
Otherwise, you will have to return a second time to rematch your hair color before placing an order of hair extensions. If you think you’re ready to book a consultation, please contact us.
